Does Garey House have indoor and outdoor locations?
Yes! We have 2 indoor spaces and 3 outdoor spaces. Click here to see more information on our Features page.
What is the role of the on-site manager?
The Garey House site manager is responsible for watching over the property, being the venue’s point of contact for vendors, and to answer any questions that clients, vendors and guests may have. They are also responsible for any venue related tasks, keeping the restrooms clean and stocked during your event, and assisting with clean-up of breaks and spills, etc.
Garey House requires a day-of coordinator and we highly recommend hiring a vetted event professional to make your special day a seamless event! If you choose a friend or family member, the designated coordinator must serve as a vendor for the entirety of the event and cannot be a wedding guest.
May we bring in our own alcohol for our event?
Yes you may! However, no more alcohol than what is supplied at the beginning of the event may be brought in. In addition, all alcohol must be served by a licensed and insured, TABC-certified bartender and a host liquor liability policy must also be supplied by the client. Shots and liquor served “neat” or “on the rocks” are not permitted.
What are the requirements of my caterer?
All caterers/food providers must be full-service, licensed and insured. We recommend that you select one of the full service caterers off of our Preferred Vendors list. You may also choose to bring in the food provider of your choice upon written approval from our staff. (See contract for more information)

Is security required at my event?
For all weddings, as well as other events that will serve alcohol or have more than 100 guests, the client is required to hire a security officer through the Georgetown Police Department. The officer must be present from the time that alcohol begins to be served, through the end of your full rental time frame to ensure that all guests and vendors leave safely. *This is booked by Garey House staff through GPD, at their designated hourly rate.
Do you require event insurance?
Yes, Garey House requires the client to supply a $1,000,000 Liability and Property Damage Insurance Policy. Host Liquor Liability must also be included if alcohol will be served at the event. We recommend purchasing through a company such as The Event Helper or WedSafe. (cost ranges from $100-$175)

Animals are not permitted, except for service animals or with prior written approval from Garey House. Upon staff approval, an animal waiver must be signed before allowing any animals on site for the ceremony and post-ceremony photos. All animals must be removed from the property once post-ceremony photos have concluded.
